Hi Rhonda, On the 1820 census, William lists his age as being over 25 and under 44. He was listed with 3 boys under 10, one boy 10-15, himself, one daughter under 10 and a female (wife) between 25 and 45. This was in Perry County, MS. I did not find him on the 1830 census -- nor did I find my Spikes or Littles. In 1840, they were all (Massey, Spikes, & Little) living in Simpson Co., MS. William, at that time, was listed with about the same family configuration - just 10 years older. But, in 1850, once again in Simpson Co., he is shown as being either 50 or 58 (hard to read), and living with him are 5 or 6 boys, ranging in ages between 5 and teens. The boys all have the last name Lafayette. William shows his place of birth as being South Carolina.
