Freddie: I have the following info that indicates there is a connection with Phillips Co AR where my 4th gr grandparents William Kindel & Elizabeth Webb finally settled after many moves during their lives; some of their children and their families also moved to Phillips Co AR as shown in 1850 & 1860 US Censuses there:
"--Correspondent JoClaire English of Marvell AR sent a newsclip of "Marvel Messenger": "Events in Marvell Past. 1836, Summer: Mr.& Mrs. Stearn Kendall, grandparents of JOHN CRENSHAW, local resident, land with children, slaves and livestock on a flatboat at Helena. Settle 17 miles East of Marvell." (This is the only note of a Crenshaw at Phillips Co AR that I have. Where Stearn or Stern Kendall fits in, I don't know. See note for Eliza Kindel-Rin 7832 who m. David Henderson Craig re a David S.L.Craig who m. Adeliza Kendall, dau. of Stern & Lucinda Kendall re Edward Young, son of Eliza (Kindel)(Mrs.DH Craig) & Dr.Wm.D.Young--Rin 8058 & Mrin 2801.

These files include letters of administration, estate settlements, appointment of guardians for minors, estate inventories. #198: John Crenshaw. Copy of document showing Mrs. Mildred Crenshaw to have been born in VA and the mother of John Crenshaw; document dated 7 Oct 1845. "In the case of the administrators of the Estate of Samuel Magee, Dec'd against the Estate of John Crenshaw, Dec'd. Mrs. Mildrid Crenshaw, mother of John Crenshaw, Dec'd, after being duly sworn sayeth, That about three or four weeks before the death of her son John Crenshaw, he handed to her one note of hand which she here presented to the Court signed AJ Pearce dated January 1st 1844 for the sum of ten dollars due one day after date, also a note signed David Mabray dated 1st day of January 1844 payable twelve months after date for the sum of six hundred and fifty three dollars and fifty five cents with a credit thereon in the following words, received of David Mabray forty eight and 50 cents January 3rd, 1844, also one note signed John K Mabray dated January 3rd 1844 for the sum of four hundred and thirty dollars and ninety two cents payable 12 months after date with interest from date, with a credit thereon of eighty two dollars & fifty one cents, and told her when he was dead and gone to hand them to Samuel Magee and to tell Sam'l Magee to pay a lawyer in Coffeyville one hundred dollars out of it which was all he said to her about them. --Correspondent Forrest F Anderson Jr., 2111 Stratford Road-SE, Decatur, AL 35601 wrote 16 Sep 1994 with info on his line of Crenshaw and with helpful info on this line. He enclosed copy of letter he had from correspondent Jerry W. Murphy, PO Box 141, Collinwood, TN 38450-0141 dated 2 Sep 1994. Mr. Murphy provided info about "The Crenshaw and Connecting Families" by Mrs. Hazel Crenshaw Wilkins, Rt 7- Box 792-A, Gilmer, TX 75644. Mr. Murphy provided this info: "Joseph Crenshaw moved into Maury County, Tennessee about 1815. He was married by 1811 to Mildred Sims, daughter of William Sims who had moved from Hanover County, Virginia to Maury County, Tennessee in 1811. Joseph died there about 1824 leaving two children; a daughter, Martha Emaline, and a son, John. The widow and children had moved to Yalobusha County, Mississippi by 1840. Mildred Sims Crenshaw died there in 1850." And here are my notes for Mildred Sims wife of Joseph William Crenshaw who d.1824 Maury Co TN in case they also be helpful:

Morgan 1991 from Huntsville/Madison Co Library: "Yalobusha County in 1850: "382: Mildred (Sims) CRENSHAW 80 VA (Mildred--note 325 was a dau. of William Sims of Hanover Co., Va and Maury Co., Tenn., and the widow of Joseph Crenshaw of Maury Co., Tenn. Her will is recorded in Yalobusha Co. Will Book A, p. 177.)
m. (William) Joseph CRENSHAW 17 Tenn Note 325: Joseph Crenshaw and Mildred Simms had at least these two children: 1. John, who married Malinda Kindle in Maury Co., Tenn., Jan. 21, 1828. He died in Yalobusha Co. prior to 1850. His name appears on the tax lists of Yalobusha Co. as early as 1835 and as late as 1843. His Yalobusha Co. probate is found in File #198, dated 1845. One known child was: a. William Joseph (b. c1833) who was living with his paternal grandmother in 1850.

She referenced (1)"Yalobusha Bound" by Chris B Morgan, (2)John Crenshaw original probate papers, Yalobusha Co Chancery Clerk's Office in Coffeyville MS--file 198 dated 1843-45, (3) Mildred Sims 1850 will also w/ Chancery Clerk--WB A pg 177. Re father of Mildred Sims--William Sims: is this the William Sims and brother James Sims after whom the "Sims Settlement" was named? Here are two references that mention this: 1. "Sims Settlement--Our Squatter Ancestors, 1806-1818" by Ruth Dixon and Bob Priest, 1989, 40 pages mimeo, $10.00 from: Ruth Dixon Assoc Inc, 3715 Upton Street NW, Washington, DC 20016 and 2. "The Lure and Lore of Limestone County", Chris Edwards & Faye Axford, First Edition--Second Printing 1978, Limestone County Historical Association, PO Box 82, Athens, AL 35611. --Ref 1, pg 3: "In the fall of 1806...Elk River...Buck Island...the first cabin was built in October for the brothers William and James Sims, who gave their name to the settlement." pg 6: "James and William Sims held their ground and are listed in the 1820 Limestone County census." pg 20: "Petitioners removed from Sims Settlement, 1809" (by U.S. Army troops) "...William, James, Keziah and Eliza Sims,..." pgs 26 & 29: "`Petition addressed to James Madison, President of the United States by 450 of the Intruders upon the Chichasaw Territory,' 5 September 1810, Letters Received by the Secretary of War, Unregistered Series, 1789-1860, Record Group 107, M222, #4." The first two signatures were "William Sims 001, James Sims 002." --Ref 2, pg 104: "...probably descended from William or James Sims, early settlers in Limestone for whom the village of Sims Settlement was named." pg 52 of Addenda Section mentions "a descendant, Howell Sims, of Huntsville."
