Mann was named after his paternal grandfather, Hugh Davis. Who was also named after his father. Mann's grandfather (my 3rd great grandfather) is likely the same person who owned the plantation as he was a planter. However I've found no records of it being named that. Their plantations all had different names. So, it is possible that it is a different plantation owner as well. My father's grandfather's maternal grandfather was a Scott. I'm hoping that this Martha Scott was a relative of his as we know very little about the Scott side of our family tree.
