The Hartfield Hotel was a boarding house run by the Hartfield family in McLaurin, Mississippi, a community in what is now Forrest County. I talked with 2 of the community's "historians" and they had not heard of a Dr. Hill in McLaurin. I checked cemetery records and did not find a Lillian Hill. I checked a 1906 Hattiesburg City directory (the earliest one I had access to) and did not find a James Hill. I did find a marriage record for J. P. Hill and Lillian Cook for Sept 24, 1898 in the Marion County records. (Note: Marion divided in 1904 into Marion and Lamar. Lamar borders Forrest which was once part of Perry.
By the way I saw Andrew Hartfield's great grand daughter at church this morning with her grandchildren. June in Mississippi
