Evelyn, I too have been in contact with Nancy Nance.

I also found the 1880 census for Sallie Crocker. I can't make a connection to our line--Elisha. But, I also can't make a connection to Silas either. Barbara Pruitt in Tupelo, MS, is in the line of Silas. She provided me a copy of the family history and there is no daughter named Sallie.

There were two other Webbs in Layfayette County as well--James Lewis Adrien Webb (Lafayette County History Book--page 600) and William Webb. William was there in 1850. Married Elizabeth; children John Davis, Wm. James, Susan, Thomas Wilson. This Thomas was killed at Battle of Jonesboro, GA and is buried in Atlanta. I don't know anything else about him.

William Webb came from the line of well-known Webbs from NC. William married in Granville City, NC, moved to W. TN then to MS. His father was John Webb (married Amy Booker) and his grandfather was James Webb (married Mary Edmonson). I believe he's in the line of James Lewis Adrien Webb.

Whether Elisha, Silas, James and/or William have any connection, I have not been able to determine. But, since Elisha and Silas come from AL to MS, I feel certain there is a connection between them.

I have spent hours on this line without much success other than being able to find Elisha's history connection to the Webbs in AR (where I live). I just have not be able to find out the parents of Elisha. But I'll get trying. Any help would be appreciated.
