I had been to the Shipp Cemetery, and saw that her grave was right beside Felix G. Shipp's grave, along with his two wives. I wondered who she was. Someone told me she was Mary Brown (Higginbotham) Powers, Felix' s mother-in-law, who must have remarried after James Higginbotham's death?.

Felix's mother, Mary McClanahan, was also born in Abbeville Dist, SC and died in 1860. I don't know where she was buried!!
Someone told me Hurricane Creek? But I'm not familiar enough with the region to know if there is a cemetery with that name, or if Josiah Shipp would have been buried there too.
