I found some wonderful records today at www.familysearch.org. The records are not indexed but look for "Mississippi, State Archives, Various Records, 1820-1951" and select Jasper County. There is an 1880 MS State census that has three sections---Males over 21 by district, Females over 21 by district, and Males and Females under 21 by district. The Census of the children lists the father's name. The names are in alphabetical order in each district and the districts match the 1880 Federal census. Warning: The records are not in order.

The county tax rolls also very useful.
