Recently, after searching for almost 16 years, I have discovered that my great grandfather was Luther Burt Jones. He was born 12 Feb 1865, in Mississippi. He is seen in both the 1870 and the 1880 Jackson, Hinds County, MS Census. He is shown with his parents, Benjamin F. & Colon E. Jones. I would really like to know about his family. Photos, and what they looked like. What was their story? What did Luther's father do for a living? Was his father in the Civil War? ALSO, would like to know if his father, mother and siblings, moved to Texas? I do not understand WHY Luther came to Texas, and in 1900, he is seen married to my great grandmother in the 1900 Tyler County, TX Census. He is 14 years her senior, and after that census, I have found no further record of him. Does anyone know about this man, or his story, or what happened to him?
