From "Desoto Cemetery Inscriptions" published 1987 by Desoto County Genealogical Society:

Lebanon Cem. is situated on site (Range 6 West, Twshp 2 South -Sec 28) that was to have been a Methodist Church, but there were burials there before the church and when it came to build the church it was erected a few miles south of the cemetery in Lewisburg.
