Surnames: White Latham Bell McDonald Meriwether Brown
I had the opportunity to go by Old Hernando Baptist Cemetery today and realized that your White family were very nearby my Johnston, Jeter and Boon relatives. (This a very well maintained cemtery) The T. W. White Family Plot is a large, prestigeous plot with stone curbing, zoysia grass, and boxwoods. There is a very large obelisk in the center and 10 white marble enlosures (some people call them "bathtubs" or rings) and other stones as well. Apparently there are still living relatives in the area, since the obelisk had a live wreath of evergreens attached to it with a red ribbon for the recent holiday season.
The obelisk appears to have names and dates that correspond to the same people in the enclosures, since some of them obviously match up. The east side of the obelisk: T. W. White, b. Elbert Co., GA Jan. 8, 1824, d. July 26, 1883. Mina Barbara White, b. Ogelthorpe Co., GA July 24, 1833, d. Oct. 29, 1899. On the north side of the obelisk: Thomas William White, b. Aug. 25, 1855, d. Jan. 14, 1901. Corrine Latham McDonald, b. Mar. 2, 1887, d. Dec. 4, 1916. John Campbell Latham, b. Apr. 22, 1885, d. d. Mar. 8, 1989. The west side of the obelisk: Frederic B. White, b. Feb. 4, 1868, d. Oct. 25, 1893. Louisa White Latham, b. Apr. 23, 1857, d. Dec. 28, 1942. The South side of the obelisk: Nellie Lucy White, b. Aug. 8, 1866, d. Jan. 13, 1963. Minor White Latham, b. Dec. 30, 1881, d. Jan. 26, 1968.
On the surrounding enclosures: T. W. White; M. B. White; T. W. White; Nellie White; M.B.B. White (also has an additional stone behind the enclosure that reads: Mina Bell, wife of J. Bell, d. Sep. 22, 1878); Cmdr. U. S. Navy, John C. Latham 1885-1983; Corine Latham McDonald 1887-1916; Louisa White Latham 1857-1942; F. B. White; Minor White Latham 1881-1968; and F. B. W. (with an addtional stone behind that reads Frederick Brown White, b. Elbert Co., GA Jan. 31, 1820, d. Hernando, Miss. Nov. 1, 1887). Then there is a seperate stone with enscriptions on two sides: William White, b. Orange Co., VA Feb. 8, 1786, d. Feb. 25, 1865. On the other side of that stone: Concord Hamilton, wife of William White, b. Columbia Co., GA Feb. 15, 1791, d. Mar. 20, 1858. There are also two newer style stones that read: Charles G. Smith, Jan. 17, 1866, May 13, 1942. and Corinne White Smith, Feb. 1, 1871, Dec. 3, 1961.
In the Dockery family plot next over: Annie White [Dockery, implied] dau. of A. & L.O. Dockery, b. Oct. 9, 1876, d. Sep. 9, 1881. And nerby, Ald\fred Dockery, b. July 16, 1841, d. Feb. 9, 1914. and Lizzie O. Dockery, b. July 1, 1846, d. Aug. 2, 1934. Also in the Dockery family plot: Nettie Frazier, dau. of J. W. & L. White Frazier, d. July 29, 1882.

I then stopped by the local Hernando Library and found the following in a book, "Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Mississippi" originally published 1891 (this was a 1962 reprint) In it: Thomas W. White born in Elbert Co., GA on Jan. 8, 1824 son of William and Concord H. (Brown) White, moved to Desoto Co., MS and married Mina B. Meriwether. Died 1889.

Mina B. White, b about 1840 in mS, dau. of Col. T. W. & Mina (Meriwether) White maried Elijah J. Bell, died 1878. [my note, this was the year of the worst of 6 Yellow Fever epidemics in this area]

William White b. abt. 1797 VA m. Concord H. Brown; moved to Desoto Co., MS in 1845; d. there 1864.

[my note: there are also several Meriwether stones in this cemetery, and I have distant Meriwether kin myself, one being Minor Meriwether who lived here in Memphis)
I took some digital pics of the White plot and will try to process them later and send them to you directly via your email address.
