Hi! Thanks so much for responding and for the info. I've been at a loss as to this Kennedy line.
Hope you don't mind - I have some questions.
I'm not clear... did the Historical Society not have ancestor info on the Kennedys & Ellises or was that something you all didn't get around to talking about?
Did you get the name Mary as Patsy's sister from the Historical Society? I think Mary may be my 3ggm Mary Elizabeth Ellis Kennedy.
Do you have a feel for when Stephen might have moved to Natchez? My 2ggm Mary Elizabeth was born in Natchez 14 July 1829 so Jesse Kennedy b 1787 was there at that time. Three yrs later the family moved to Avoyelles Parish, La. Also, do you know the year the murder of Becky Cotton occurred?
The relationship between Jesse and Stephen Kennedy is a challenge. My ggm thought they were brothers as do some descendants of Stephen. Do you know Diane G. from Mobile? I had some communication with her last year about this. She thought they were brothers but there's no paper evidence. That land transfer you have is the only document I've heard of defining their relationship. If you have that digitized or can digitize it, I'd love to have a copy, even if it's hard to read. My email is:
bayouwood2@yahoo.com.
Sounds like Tonya Browder was a real find. How long ago where you there? I'd like to call and see if they do research requests or if you have to be there in person.
I so do appreciate your willingness to help!
