As to the German settlements, Johann Hinrich Luehmann/Luhmann moved to Lewiston from Germany in , when he was about 10, with his parents Joachim and Anna (Hinrichs) Luehmann. Interestingly enough, J.H. was brother to Henry N. Luehmann. I am not sure if this is the same Henry Luehmann who formerly owned the cemetery, but it would seem likely. I do not have much information on the life of Henry himself, but I have extensive information on the who's who of his family and a few stories pertaining to them if you are interested.
