In 1947, there were many auto plants in operation over the southeast corner of MI representing most or all of the major manufacturers. Most of them were in the Flint or Detroit areas and there were small towns popping up all over the place from the influx of people coming to find jobs in those plants and industries. That's what brought my mother's family here, too. If you can give me a few more specifics on your family, the tool and die factory or the auto plant your grandfathers worked at, or even something else to try to identify the small town, I'll do my best to try to help you out. I live in the northern portion of that region of MI and grew up around the auto industry and the Masons. Send me a private email with some further details and we'll see what we can come up with.
