This may be a completely unrelated person, but I recently came across some old marriage notices from an 1830 newspaper. In the Utica (NY) Sentinel and Gazette, April 20, 1830 there is a marriage notice for an Ellis Brigham.
It says
"In Waterloo, on the 11th. Ellis Brigham to Lucinda DeLuca."
