Benjamin L. Clark was a physician & based on most censuses and death indexed record born in West Indies. Depending on census, is listed as black or mulatto; wife Maria/Mary (have been unable to locate her maiden name) is listed on 1860 & 1870 censuses as mulatto or white and born in England. If I have found right indexed death record for her, she died in 1877. This is my "brick wall" of my maternal side --------trying to locate the definitive supportive docs to tie the line together.
