I am researchig some of the pioneer families of Manchester Washtenaw Co. Michigan. One of the families is the Ockrow family. They were free men of color, never held in slavery. They appear in the 1850 census.
I am finding in google books , sorry long link
http://books.google.com/books?id=60viAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA28&am...there was a Nelson Ockrow who owned a lot in Elmwood in 1886. Nelson died in Manchester in 1893 and he, wife and daughtger are buried in Manchester. Nelsonls parents brother and sister and families are all buried in Manchester.
Is there a way I can check to see if anyone is buried on the lot in Elmwood??? I do not think so, but would love to have any info the cemetery might have on this lot.
I have been to findagrave and looked as several other places, but I do not know where to go to find info on this lot and the owner
