I looked for him in the 1867-1897 death index, www.mdch.state.mi.us/pha/osr/gendisx/search2.htm but didn't find him. His death might not have been recorded.

You can do a Google search for St. Clair County Michigan Cemeteries and look for him in the inventoried cemeteries.

IF you don't find him, I'd contact the St. Clair County Family History Group, www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~misccfhg/ and ask if they have his death info, obit or cemetery inventories.

You might have to contact the St. Clair County Court Clerk and ask about his will/probate records. Successful Searching!
