I am pleased to find your website. My grandfather was John Henry Havens (b. 1872). He married Georgia Belle Cain. John Henry's father was George M. Havens and his mother was Caroline Emaline Merkle. John Henry had several brothers (all born in Michigan) who lived in Kansas. I know he had a sister, Clara, who was a school teacher in LeRoy, Kansas. For many years, Clara cared for her brother, Herbert, who had apparently been severely injured in a fall. I do recall meeting Fred and Ida May Garrison when I was about five or six years old.

My father, Ralph Merkle Havens, was born in Oklahoma in 1909. My mother, Freda Mills, had pursued family history several years ago. She has Alzheimer's now, so doesn't remember much. However, she did give me a three-ring binder filled with the information she had collected. I would be pleased to communicate with anyone to find out more about the Havens, and to share the information I have.
