OBITUARY: Earl T Smith, 83, of 1134 Cedar St, Lapeer, died Sunday at Hurley Hospital, Flint. Funeral services for Mr Smith were to be held this Wednesday at 1 pm at he Baird Newton Funeral Home, the Rev Clifford Haskins officiating. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Survivors include 1 son, Jack of Lapeer, 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mr Smith was born Apr 27, 1888 in Lansing. He came to Lapeer from Lansing in 1923. From 1935 until he retired in 1958 he was business manager for the State Home.
