In Lapeer we now have 2 newspapers, one is the Lapeer County Press and the other is the LA View. We also have the Good News Newsletter and the Lapeer Genealogical Society's newsletter. Write one or all of them a letter and see if you can get any help. There are many retired workers from the Home still alive that may know something. Worth a try. You never know.

When someone at the Home died they did have an actual death record on file at the Clerks Office. They were listed under their legal names, just buried in the Oakdale cemetery under numbers if they died there and were a ward of the state and no one claimed them. Someone with the Society does have a list of names with their numbers.
