I have information that Wolcott was the brother of Catherine Teachout, wife of Stephen Havens. There is supposed to be another brother named William. Catherine was born 1818 in Ontario County NY. She was the daughter of John W. and Polly Dust/Doost. John W. Teachout was a soldier in the War of 1812 and received land bounties that he applied for in Michigan. The info I have says that the Teachout line came from Holland prior to the Revolutionary War and several served in that conflict. The name appears in the Revolutionary records as Tichaut. (I received this information on the Teachout family from another researcher who has since passed away, and I have not verified it.)
Stephen Havens and Catherine Teachout married in NY and were in Unadilla Township of Livingston Co. by 1836. They later moved to White Oak Twp. of Ingham Co. I've been trying to find out more about Stephen Havens in order to determine if he was related to William A. Havens who lived in the same area at the same time. (I have another posting regarding his family on this site.) If you are able to find any information on the ancestors of this Stephen Havens, please let me know. Thanks!
