July 1885 in Bay City - (the striking lumbermen) 78 mills shut down. March of 1,400 men.

Saginaw Valley Lumber Strike 1885/(Bay Journal) - STRIKERS parade in streets with banners & flags.
Knights of Labor Assemblies - 1879 - 1889.

(I believe this couple were *Catholic with the Catholic BIBLE the photo's were in and the BIBLE was printed /made in 1879 (So this *man or couple must have been somewhat important to receive this BIBLE from an Assembly meeting - with ties to the CHURCH)

#Note I also would THINK an old newspaper write up of an FARM AUCTION of the area might reveal the name of the couple? I just don't know what YEAR and only it was bought at some auction in 1930's and not sure if this auction was in Kinde? Bad Axe or Port Austin. I don't think my Great Grandfather would have driven all the way to BAY CITY or Saginaw back in the 1930's from Kinde/Pinnebog where he lived for an AUCTION...........................................

I THINK this Bible eventually ended up in the Kinde vicinity and this couple may have lived around there at the time of their deaths in the 1930's and their Farm going up for Auction.

I would point more towards him working in Port Austin or a lumbering Mill in the 1870's & 1880's and he was either a Teamster wagon driver or worked in the Sawing mill?
He seems to have been important enough to receive the Catholic *Bible from an assembly meeting and it's connection with the CHURCH and it's support to Strikers - they only passed Bibles out to a DESERVING PERSON. Plus he's having him picture taken.
