I believe the Emil Dukatz census above was misattributed to the Ducketts at Family Search as another 1940 census suggests that Fred and Evelyn returned to North Carolina and was living with her sister and her family in 1940:

Note that another poster upthread mentions that he is the son of Evelyn and Fred's oldest son, Lawrence. It is this line that I am interested in regards to DNA testing.
