I am seeking copies of obits for may great grandparents who lived and died in HOUGHTON COUNTY, MI. My great grandmother's maiden name was Margaretha (Margaret) Hoffenbacher (possibly spelled Hoffenbecher or Hoffenbecker at the time she immigrated in about 1855). He first husband was Andrew (Andreas) Ruhl. Andrew appears to have been the brother of Adolph Ruhl who became a prominent citizen in Hancock MI (Adolph was also married to another Hoffenbacher). Adolph was also active in the Germania Aid Society if anyone has information on that entity. Andrew Ruhl appears to have died about 1871 because Margartha was remarried shortly thereafter to my great grandfather Barney (Beranrd) Schneider (apparently Riemenschneider). Margarteha died May 3, 1920 in Hancock (or the immediate area) and is buried there. The date of death for Barney Schneider is unknown. However, he appears to have been younger than Margaret and therefore may have lived longer.
Thanks for all forms of help!
