Yes, I know all of this, I've been doing the whole Ancestry thing for 15 years. I have come up against a blank wall, unable to find the Mehan or Haffner families in the census records. What I posted is literally all I know about my great-aunt and 2nd-ggrandfather. I am hoping that someone, somewhere, knows something I don't, and is willing to share.

BTW, Elizabeth and Raymond never divorced, they just separated. In those days, Catholics didn't divorce; and divorce was more difficult to obtain for anyone. Dad, being the youngest, does not know why his parents "agreed to disagree"; everyone else is gone, so there's nobody left to ask. I think it was because Grandmother was a nut. But that's another story.
