Over the period of this year I have been spending time on resolving a question about my paternal great-grandmother, Emma L. Stafford, born and raised in Genesee County. She married Harvey Rathbun on Christmas Day 1884, then can be found in 1889 marrying George Dorn. By the 1900 U.S. Census she is living in Saginaw under the surname SWEET. On Saturday, 11-6-2004, I spent nearly four hours going over the Marriage Index microfilms at the local LDS office with no luck in finding what should be Emma DORN marrying someone named SWEET in either Genesee or Saginaw Counties prior to that U.S. Census of 1900. Has anyone in this group been looking into the Stafford family in the late 1800s, or have information on someone who might be looking?
