I'm following any lead I can get to break down my 15 year old brick wall. My 2nd great grandfather was born 1832 in Canada. He married a Charlotte Martin (daughter of Solomon Martin) in Michigan and they had children together:

Joseph M. Rousseau b. abt 1867 in Michigan
Charlotte J. Rousseau b. abt. 1869 in Michigan
Charles Rousseau b. abt. 1871 in Michigan
John Jonas Rousseau b. May 17, 1875 in Beaver Island, Michigan

The family was mostly living in St. Ignace, Michigan between 1860-1880 but I have found a Charles Rosseau who was living in Dallas, Clinton, Michigan and in the 23 Infantry in Company E or I but his mailing address was still St. Ignace. Can someone in Dallas try to find any information on this Charles Rosseau for me and I will try to compare it to my family to see if there is a connection?
