1. ALEXANDER1 BARCLAY was born September 23, 1843 in Scotland, and died January 22, 1915 in Whitefish Point, Michigan. He married JERUSHA ANN POWELL, daughter of TRUEMAN POWELL and ANNA WILLIAMS. She was born May 29, 1851 in Illinois, and died December 14, 1916 in Whitefish Point, Michigan.

Notes for ALEXANDER BARCLAY:
Alexander Barclay was a teacher in East Munising, Michigan. Later he started a cranberry farm in Whitefish Point, Michigan.

"Alexander Barclay, Jr., born at Powell's Point, married Miss Bernia, daughter of the lighthouse keeper at Whitefish Point. Annie Barclay-MacLean-Gustafson has five sons, MacLean's, and a son and daughter, Gustafson's. Margaret Barclay-Liedtke lives at Two Heart Life-Saving Station where her husband is employed. Flora Barclay-LaWay has two daughters and lives near Cheboygan. Samuel Barclay and Trueman Barclay married girl friends and live at Sault Ste. Marie. Mary Barclay married Austin Pierce, whom she met when she was teaching school at Sugar Island. David Barclay, as yet, is not married."
