I am looking for information about the taxation lists entitled in the Latter Days Saints Family History Library Catalog "Valuations, 1780-1792, 1810-1811".

I am looking for information regarding and ancestor who lived in the district of Maine while it was still part of Massachusetts.

Has anyone had any experience with these tax lists? How are they arranged? How easily readable are they? What kind of information do they have? Are they available at the Massachusetts state archives?

I'm looking for information about the record set before I invest the time.
