I have learned that I have some Duncans that lived on the East Coast and possibly in Mass. Off the top of my head I think the town was Grafton. My Duncans immigrated from Dundee, Angus area of Scotland. My Great Grandfather William Duncan came around 1887-89 with his family. It appears that other siblings came over prior to his arrival as well as afterwards. My Grandfather settled in Long Island, New York and I have knowledge via photos that my Grandmother had many cousins visiting. I have photos that indicate that my Grandmother made visits up and down the sea board to areas that appear to be Conn.,Mass.,NY & NJ. The info I have is relatively new to me and I have not had time to do a big work up on it but it show that there are many possiblities. I would not discount entry in Canada and then moving south to live near other members of the family. I have not come across any Garlands or Barretts but I am not finished connecting names from a letter to several photos to confirm the relationships in the photos that I have.
