Can someone tell me what Church in Amesbury could have given "letters" to a Church in Wells, Maine that would allow the bearer to be granted 50 acres in Arundel fronting on the ocean at Cleaves Cove? The parcel was adjacent to that of Nicholas Bareto who was also from Amesbury. My 6th great grandfather, Philip Cole and his wife Mary (Hadley) Cole were given such a grant after selling their 13 acre parcel in Amesbury.
