I am very happy to find this obituary, as I have been looking for the descendents of John Sterling and his wife Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Carbaugh of Williamsport, Washington Co., MD.

I interviewed my 96 yrs old mother-in-law this week, and she remembered her husband's aunts: Sarah J. Sterling m. Charles J. Murray, Bessie Viola Sterling m. John Harvey Byers, Bertha J. Sterling m. Roth (Ross) A. Castle. They "all had heart trouble". Their brother William Luther Sterling m. Mamie Elizabeth Ardinger, and they were the only ones to leave Williamsport, eventually ending up in Lancaster Co., PA.

The aunts stayed back in Williamsport, and my mother-in-law said she "was never inside any one of their homes." They would drive down and visit from the car. The family made an effort to keep in touch, and the Ardingers stayed close. Any "cousins" out there are welcome to contact us.
