My Canter family arrived in Lancaster Cty, Va in 1662. The Gardiners were always neighbors and I'm sure there were marriages, but cannot prove it. The Canters also migrated to Rowan Cty, N.C. and then into Wilkes, Ashe, Watauga,Chatham,Davies,Alexander, etc.

You may want to try google books..I have found many old records in their book collection online.
