Wentworth Watson was born around 1775 in Anne Arundel Co., MD. It is believed that his father was William Watson of the same county. Wentworth Watson and family were associated with the Dent and Trott families of the area, some members of which left as a group apparently in 1700s to go to Rowan Co., NC, where they intermarried in the Episcopal Church there. In Anne Arundel Co. they had been associated with the St. James parish, we believe.

There was another line of Watsons who went to VA, and we do not know if this group was connected to the Anne Arundel group. This other group were from Montogomery Co., MD., and perhaps unconnected.

I would appreciate any information on the Watsons of Anne Arundel Co.

Sons of Wentworth Watson were David, Ferran/Ferrand, Henry W., John W., and James, plus my line from the youngest, a daughter Mary Watson (b.1814 Rowan NC). The wife of Wentworth Watson and mother to these children was Elizabeth Gheen of Rowan, NC. We believe there was a marriage of an older David Watson in Anne Arundel who might have been the uncle of our Wentworth Watson of Rowan, NC.
