Patch Mountain is in Greenwood, Maine. There is a cemetery there, with the graves of two Verrills -- Daniel Verrill, died 23 Dec 1852, age 71y, 5m, 26d, and his wife, Eunice Verrill, died 9 Jul 1859, age 79. The cemetery is far up a mountainside on a discontinued, and very rough, road. A high-standing SUV MIGHT make it up the road. All terrain and off-road vehicles could certainly go up. The cemetery is well-maintained, but very difficult to get to.
To find Patch Mountain, go to West Paris village, just off Route 26. Follow state road 219 north to the tiny hamlet known as Greenwood City. Route 219 ends there at a T-intersection. Turn right at that intersection and go maybe 100 feet. Turn left at the first possible road on the left. It is unpaved. Follow this road, and always bear to the left when the road divides. You will go up about 3 or 4 miles. The cemetery is on the left and easily visible.
CAUTION -- Do not try to get there with a regular car! The road is treacherous.
