There are only three existing, visible cemeteries on Bayou Sale south of the Intercoastal Canal. There were a few more, but nothing remains to mark their location.

North Bend is almost under the bridge on the south side. There are only iron crosses there.

Midway is next and is right next to the highway in an oak grove. Most graves are marked, but many are not.

South Bend is last and is in a heavily wooded area. No graves or headstones remain, just piles of bricks.

I recorded the known burials in all three of these plantation cemeteries and entered them on the Find A Grave web site. You can view them by searching for each cemetery by the name I used here. All are in St. Mary Parish.
