Thanks so much for your prompt, kind reply. I believe Pulaski Co extends to Malvern, possibly Hot Springs. This southwest Arkansas, southeast Texas area is extremely interested in genealogy, of which it is quite rich. Libraries devote genealogy space with books one can study into. I find this area was once an original wagon-trail-westward 'road' and quite historical in every sense of the word. Towns that subsequently sprang up along this trail died off in later years due to the interstate diverting traffic from local merchants. It's possible, your folks travelled from Cumberland Gap VA / KY into Arkansas along this very trail and landed in Little Rock area. It's a large, metropolitan city about 1-1/2 hours drive from where I am.
Keep in mind the libraries in our area are very helpful. And . . . lots and lots of records on published online, after the 72-year ruling, of course.
Happy Trails To You,
