I just received this from my cousin and researcher in Owenton. Your Shelton's wife was Lavina Clifton and is the daughter of Noah Clifton (Noah is the brother to my 3rd GGrandfather David SR)

Shelton ROMANS was born in 1820 in Owen County, Kentucky. Listed as a Laborer.

Shelton married Lavina CLIFTON, daughter of Noah CLIFTON and Charlotte OSBORNE. Lavina CLIFTON was born in 1827 in Owen County, Kentucky.

They had the following children:
Angelin ROMANS was born in 1839
Mary ROMANS was born in 1842
James ROMANS was born in 1844
Andrew ROMANS was born in 1846
Wyatt ROMANS was born in 1848
Harriott ROMANS was born in 1849

Neighbors: Jackson, McFarlon, Minor, Glap, Hill, Prather, Taylor, Hammon and a William H. Clifton (son on David Sr brother to Noah)

Katharine CLIFTON was born in 1812 in Lusbye's Mill, Owen County, Kentucky.

Katharine married William ROMANS. William ROMANS was born in 1810 in Owen County, Kentucky. Listed as a Laborer on the census.

They had the following children:

Colman ROMANS was born in 1833
Andrews ROMANS was born in 1836
Susan ROMANS was born in 1838
Elizabeth ROMANS was born in 1840
Jackson ROMANS was born in 1845
Catherine ROMANS was born in 1848

The next door neighbor to William was a Richard Bennett, his daughter married Joab Clifton son on Noah, Joab dies in 1846 and Richard along with David Jr (son of David Sr Noah's brother) become the guardian's of Joab's two sons Wyatt 4 and Richard 6. Another close neighbor is Nancy Clifton widow of John (David Sr son)

Jacob 34 wife Sarah 20 children: George 8 and Cerilda 4/12 Pg 181

John 25 wife Malinda 23 children: John 1 & Catherine 1/12 Pg 180

Neighbors: Holbrook, Osborn's, Smiths, Talborts, Martins, Perkins & O'Banyon's all these surnames tie back to our Clifton's except Perkins (so far)

I have a lot of information including marriage records on Noah's children. I have his will and just sent for his service papers for the war of 1812.
