I would love to obtain a copy of the picture you have of Tamsy. I am the great grand-daughter of Samuel Moore through his son Albert Moore and my father Billy Gene Moore. Ovie Moore, you mention, provided me with the oral history recorded from a Baptist preacher from our family's church (which also used to be the Moore schoolhouse since the family was so large). He is the one who says that Samuel is from Scott County, VA. In the 1850 census, he does list Virginia as his birthplace and in those early censuses, he says his father was from Virginia and mother from Kentucky. I, too, am looking towards Samuel as the possible father for Samuel in Scott County, VA....although Joel and Henry also had children the same age. I have copies of the deeds for Samuel Moore via ancestry links and also went to the national archives and copied the agricultural censuses from 1850, 1860 and 1880 showing exactly what Samuel had on his farm...interesting....I have been stumped since 2001 and am nearly ready to do map study and trace steps because I am running in circles on this one...:)....
