I am trying to find out if anyone knows the history of the Crews Ferry and Tavern that was suppose to be along the banks of the Rockcastle River. It supplied lodging for people, meals, put up horses for the night and also provided a ferry to cross the river. It took place sometime in the 1800's.They say that Ullyses S Grant was there.I've been told James Crews was owner and operater, but have never proven that.I know the daughter was Celia who married Joel Elkins. If you can shed any light please contact me. Thank you,Arby
