Hope someone can help. I'm looking for the parents of both my grandfather (John Bell Davis), and my grandmother (Queene Isabelle Bunton). They were both born someplace in Tennessee. John was born December 1873 and Queene was born May 1876. John died February 14, 1919 in a coal mining accident in Annabelle. He was 45 years old. Queene died sometime after 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio.

They had several children:

George Alexander Davis (daddy) born July 3, 1919 Fairmont (Marion County), WVA; 1st married Beatrice Harold born November 11, 1925 in Uniontown, PA. They were married November 9, 1940 in Fairmont, WV. They had one child. George Alexander Davis Jr. Daddy later married Mona Rose Winland born March 24, 1923 in Hundred, WV. Mona died June 23, 1995 in Akron, Ohio.

James A. Davis born October 10, 1904 Madisonville (Hopkins County), KY; married Virginia Trent Washington June 5, 1943. James aka "Uncle Sugarbowl" died September 20, 1977 in Fairmont (Marion County), WV. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont. They had one child.

Margaret L. Davis born ? Beckley, WV; married Woodrow Cherry November 11, 1933 at Church of God, Fairmont WV. They had 2 children.

Arlenia Davis born July, 1908 in Tennessee. I have heard that she married Brownie Minor and they had a daughter. It is also said that Arlenia died in Fourstates, WVA.

I believe there were more children, but these are all that I could verify so far.

From another marriage license, and I don't know how they are related yet...

John Chappell born December 24, 1919 in PA married on Jun2 20, 1943 Devoalia Davis born March 29, 1917 in AL. They were married in Fairmont (Marion County), WV. His parents were John and Virginia Chappell. Her parents were James and Katie Davis.
