Hi, Ann--Glad to hear from another Kindel/Kindle/Kendall researcher.

First of all, for info on William Kindle b.1755 & his descendants, go to this website: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com & in the Search Form enter: Kindle William Born: 1755 & the page that comes up will have some other researchers' family trees with descendants from William Kindle b.1755.

Second, I am real pleased to have the additional info you passed along in your message showing your descent from Moses Kendall, Richmond G Kendall & Williamson Frank Kendall etc. on down to you. I'm going to add this to my database. And also, could you provide some more info about this descendancy to show (1) names of spouses you know of your Kendall's & their data such as date/place born/died etc. & (2) names of all children you know of in each generation & their data--including their spouses. Here's the reason that this info will be valuable: My database contains a LOT of Kindel, Kindle, Kendall persons and who they married and who their children were etc. But it is very hard to pinpoint the exact Williamson Kendall, Moses Kendall, Richmond Kendall (or Kindel, Kindle) looked for without knowing the names of spouses and children. And sometimes the data will just show W. Kendall, or M. Kendall etc and so if there isn't also info on the names of spouses and/or children then its almost impossible to find the right one being looked for.

I searched my database for info shown in your post and found a Richmond Kendall b.abt 1814 TN who married Martha ____? and had 2 chidren: Williamson Kendall b.abt1833 & Emma Emmaline Elizabeth Kendall b.1836 Paris, Henry Co, TN d.15 Jul 1911 Lampasas Co TX m.1 Jan 1853 Henry Co TN Broadie T Howard. Do you connect with this family? The researcher who provided this info to me in 1999 is: Regina Van Nortwick <JVanortwik@aol.com> 2203 Webster, Sanger CA 93657-2749. Perhaps you two are cousins?

I also found a Moses Kindel b.___? d.1821 Limestone Co AL wife unk 6 children: Williamson Kindel b.abt 1802, Julia, Richard, Mariah, Sarah, Feriba. The children became orphans and they chose as their guardian Peter Kendall. There was more than one Peter Kendall around, but since there is a Henry Co TN connection as noted above, then this Peter Kendall was likely the Peter Kendall of Henry Co TN who was well known in his time, a TN State Senator etc. And there is considerable info about him in other researchers' trees at World Connect. Also a book on these and connected Kendall's was published recently by Alice Craft who is a descendant and perhaps also your cousin--so you might keep your eye out for that (I don't have a copy of it).

I'll be glad to do some more searching of your line to try and find more connections for you--if you can send me some added detail on spouses, children & their spouses of your several generations.

As for whether a Moses Kendall connects with William Kindle b.1755--I have not seen any info to show this. But if you have some, I sure would like to see it. I suspect that my 4th gr grandfather who was William Kindel b.1781 was another son of William Kindle b.1755; however, I have not been able to find a record to confirm this; although I have found several circumstantial facts that strongly suggest it. So far, his only only sons were John who spelled his name Kindel (several of his descendants used Kindle & Kindel) and George who spelled his name Kindle (and most of his descendants spelled it Kindle). His daughters were Amelia or Milly who m. John Painter; Sarah or Sally who m. William Ledgerwood Jr; and Tabetha or Bethe who m. John Nelson. By the way, my research did turn up the given name of the wife of William Kindle b.1755: Tabitha (or perhaps its Tabetha is her daughter's name is)--I just wish I had also been able to find the surname! A lot of researchers of William Kindle b.1755 have been searching for many years for this.

Check into the leads noted above, get back to me with spouses & children & their spouses of your Kendall's, and let's exchange some more info. I'm ALWAYS INTERESTED in this! Good luck and adios from Fred in Folsom CA
