Surnames: Justice Stephens Handshoe
Thank you, thank you for replying!

This is my line:

I have - Justices:

John - Amy Neal,
Jonathan (1786)- Hannah Doty,
Jackson (1824)- Dorcus Patton,
Jefferson (1854)- Cynthia Stephens,
Jackson (1896) - Ocie Bailey, ( my grandparents)
Ethel Justice (1924) - Sterling Ward. ( Mom and Dad)

Jefferson Justice was a school teacher and died soon after my papaw Jack was born. His widow Cynthia Stephens married Joseph Morgan Thornesbury who divorced her after two sons.

Can anyone tell me how Jefferson, a teacher, died so young??

I have Cynthis Stephens as daughter of George W. Stephens and Margaret Handshoe. Do you all have that?

Yes my mother always told me someone in her family was hung by confederate horse thieves. One Justice researcher found that one of the Justices WAS hung by horse thieves during the C war so it may have been separate instances. I don't have the info now.

Does anone have pictures of any of these Justices?

Pattons:

Capt John Patton 1728 - Mary anderson
James Henry Patton 1750 - Florence Graham
Henry Patton 1774 - Rachael Quarles or Rachael Goodman ??
Dorcus Patton 1828 - Jackson Justice

Can anyone help - was Rachael Quarles Henry's last wife because Dorcus was Henry's last child
