My query concerns Stoms/Stums who were in Ballard County in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 censuses. In the 1860 census they were enumerated in the Tharp District. Most of them were gone by 1870; however, a few were living at Ft. Jefferson Post Office and Barlow City.

In these censuses were Rutha b.ca. 1792 KY; Presley b.ca. 1823 IL; William b.ca. 1824 KY; Joseph b.ca. 1832 KY; Henry b.ca. 1834 KY; George b.ca. 1836 KY. Were they mother and sons? Was Rutha the Ruth (Jameson) and widow of George Stum from Muhlenberg County KY?

I live in Warren County and cannot get to Ballard County. Can someone tell me if marriages have been extracted and put into book form? Are marriage manuals, censuses, etc., available for purchase?

Is there anyone working on this family? Presley married Ann Unsell d/o David Unsell who was most likely the s/o Abraham from Muhlenberg County. Lots of questions and if anyone can answer any of them I will be most greatful.
