I happened to be researching Criths today and ran across a newspaper article about Floyd and Lacie's marriage (9/3/1918). His name is spelled wrong - Ford - but it's him. See attached clipping from the Advocate,Sept 13, 1918.
Also, I have had really good luck finding info at genealogybank.com for my Kansas ancestors. It's a subscription service but they have several black newspaper archives such as the Advocate, the Plaindealer and the Negro Star which both have a lot of news about happenings in Kansas from the late 1800s to mid 1950s. There are other papers too but those are the ones in which I seem to find the most info.
Hope this was helpful.
