You are a true & excellent genealogical sleuth! And if you are like me, you love doing it.

I have found out a lot in the intervening years - since I first posted that message in Jan. 1999. Actually, another of my messages in Feb. 1999 (under Cooper) describes how I found Charles Hunter's family in eastern Iowa. I was able to find a descendant of one of his siblings. The fact that his family kind of split up and Charles went to eastern Iowa on his own, made for difficulties in tracing his family (and his mother remarried, etc.).

Anyway, there is new info in your research (& I thank you for it!) - such as the William Hall living nearby in Iowa. I am not sure however that his grandfather - Charles Hunter - was born in Wood Co., VA. Other data suggests that he came from & was born in Ireland. However that is the generation I am currently working on.

Still have not found out what the Hall connection is.
