Hello 'Ivgen', 30/September/2008
I refer to your post of 02/August/2001.
In that you indicated that a Mary Pauline Hurley (1866-1951) was married to a Felix Hugh McGivern (1856-1925).

This is a long shot.
My grandfather Jack Hurley's full elder sister Mary (b.approx 1866) emigrated from Glengarriff, Co.Cork Ireland to USA in approximately 1885 never to return.
Jack (1886-1977), the youngest of ten by nine years, was born after she left and lived his whole life in Ireland with a couple of brief visits to Britain only, and so they never actually met.
Their mother's maiden name was Lynch.
He indicated to me in 1970 that Mary had married a man named McGivern and lived in Ohio. But he could have been mixed up about which state exactly.
She corresponded with his other elder sisters still in Ireland for some time, and had approximately seven children, the eldest of whom were probably not much younger than Jack/Grandad.
None of his other elder siblings had families in USA, and to my knowledge none of my many many Hurley relatives still on this European side of the Atlantic know anything about the McGivern branch either.

Could they be the same McGiverns?
If so, then I have a lot of information on her ancestry and on the other Hurley-related branches to share with them.
Anybody, please let me know about this.
Thanks. Regards
Michael O'Shea, London, UK.
