Veda Kirk, Osceola

Veda Kirk, 96, of Osceola, died March 17, 1997, of heart failure in the Osceola Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21, 1997, at 11 a.m. at the Murray Church of Christ. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Thursday, March 20 at the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Pastor Brian McCracken will officiate the service, and burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Clarke County.
She was born May 7, 1900, in Clarke County, the daughter of Eddie C. and Frances F. (Little) Fazel. She married Hiram Kirk Feb. 10, 1926 in Mount Ayr. She was a teacher in the rural schools for five years. She was a lifelong resident of Clarke County. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star (50+ member) in Lorimor #295 Venus Chapter; the Osceola Christian Church and also active and attended the Madison Chapel Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son and a sister.
Surviving relatives include a son, Larry Kirk and wife Martha of Bluffton; a daughter, Audrey McDowell and husband Ted of Lorimor; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Kirk of Murray; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Murray Church of Christ.
