I am trying to clear up information about Jackson an Dean (or rhoad) listed as children of James and Phebe Mellon. I know that Phebe was married to Jeremiah Dean in 1861. Some researchers list the children's names as Dean which would seem to be correct making the 1880 census confusing or incorrect. I have tried to find the 1870 census with Phebe and James Mellon as they were married in 1865 but can not locate it. They lived in Scott County, Indiana in 1880 and I believe Phebe is a native of scott County, Indiana. Does anyone have access to the 1870 census with Phebe and James? The 2 children--Jackson (Jack) and Rhoda or Dean should be listed.
