I'm not sure if anyone is still looking for information on Hiram Elliott, but here's what his obituary says:
b. 6 Dec 1825 in Zenas, Jennings County, IN - d. 15 Oct 1899
m. Josephine Payton 11 Feb 1848 in Vernon, IN. - she died 18 Mar 1892
They had 10 children, 7 survived him.
He joined the Butlersville Lodge No. 219 as an entered apprentice 22 June 1858 and by 24 Aug he was raised to Master Mason. He was a continuous member ever since, holding important positions.
Son of Judge Robert and Louisa Elliott, who were well and favorably known.
He entered the mercantile business with W. R. Glasgow in Nebraska, and after a few years he accepted a position as fuel agent on the O & M RR; then became a contractor; then was appointed assistant paymaster of the railroad until elected Treasurer of Jennings County in 1872; re-elected in 1874. When his term expired he moved back to Nebraska, farmed and raised stock.

He was also executor of his father's estate (Robert died in 1888). Robert Elliott was the son of William Elliott, Revolutionary War soldier who was born 12 May 1752 in Cumberland County, PA, died 26 March 1839. After the war, William moved to Bourbon County, KY, where Robert James was born 18 Aug 1800. Robert is named in William's will, and also provided a sworn statement for the pension application of his elder sister Mary "Polly" Elliott, whom he witnessed marry Elihu Galloway at their parents' home in Bourbon County, KY on the 1st or 2nd March 1812. I've also seen somewhere that Robert platted Nebraska, which makes some sense as Hiram was considered a pioneer.

Hiram's uncles include David, Johnson, John, William, and Joseph Elliott. Aunts: Mary Galloway, Margaret Martha Patterson (died before 1839), Anne Macy (later Patterson- I think!)
